About Mullaghmore Sea Farm

Mullaghmore, County Sligo, Ireland

We supply Lobster, Crawfish, Brown Crab, Velvet Crab, Spider Crab, Sea Urchins, prawns and Shrimp, to the Irish and Export market. Mullaghmore Sea Farm has been in operation since 1951, and our shellfish are caught by local inshore fishermen from crystal clear Atlantic waters along the west and north-western coast of Ireland.

Our chilled sea water holding facility consists of a series of cascading stacking systems, which hold trays stacked up to 12 high. It has a total water capacity of 40,000 gallons and can house over 40,000 lobsters at any one time. Mullaghmore Sea Farm is committed to providing top quality shellfish to our customers in the most sustainable way possible.

Our Shellfish has been sourced from local fishermen for over 60 years, and we fully support the responsible fishing schemes operated by the EU and Irish government. Our fishermen use V-notching to conserve Lobster Stocks. This is where a V-Notch is cut in the tail of Female Lobsters and they are returned alive to the sea so that they can continue to breed. We also work together with the Irish North West Lobster Fishermen’s Co-Op and the local fishing community to restock juvenile Lobsters in our area.
